One of her best, in my estimation. I just discovered this video by accident while web surfing. The cool thing about seeing her live is many of her facial expressions during certain moments of the song are just as I imagined them in my mind after hundreds of listens to this tune.
One thing we as writers should always do is look for and enjoy and appreciate superlative artists in other fields as a way of inspiring us, motivating us, driving us to improve our writing in hopes of achieving greatness in some small way. Even if we don’t succeed, our efforts may in turn inspire someone else to excel, and at the least we raise the collective bar of quality.
Get a cup of whatever, put your headphones on, turn up the volume to club level, and enjoy. Then write something excellent today.

What a voice! That was great. I’ve definitely been inspired by the *artistry* of many song artists (Imogen Heap, Janelle Monae, 50s era music, etc, etc.) I’m generally just impressed when an artist/athlete/professional excels in just doing their thing. It makes you want to put that much more effort into your work.
